Description:As part of the Faculty of Natural Resource Management, our Forestry program will provide you with a background in the biological, social and operational fundamentals of forestry and its relationship to our ecosystems. You will gain the business skills, scientific expertise and practical experience needed to solve modern conservation and sustainability challenges.

Our Honours Bachelor of Science in Forestry shares a common curriculum with the Honours Bachelor of Environmental Management for the first two years, exposing you to various topics including: Climate change mitigation, Wildlife habitat management, Water/forest interactions, Natural resources policy, Geographical information systems, and First Nations forestry

  •  Grade12 English 

Completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent high school diploma; Grade 12 U English; 3 Credits from: Grade 12 U Advanced Functions, Grade 12 U Biology, Grade 12 U Chemistry, Grade 12 U Computer & Info Science, Grade 12 U or M Geography*, Grade 12 U Calculus & Vectors, Grade 12 U Math of Data Management, or Grade 12 U Physics, and 2 Additional Grade 12 U or M Credits. *Only one Grade 12 U or M Geography course may be used.

Test Scores:
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 550] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 80] or Michigan English Language Assessment Battery [min. 85] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Computer Based) [min. 213] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5]

Applicants whose first language is not English will need to satisfy Lakehead University’s English language proficiency requirements. Applicants can complete one of the following recognized language tests with the required minimum scores: TOEFL PBT-550, CBT-213, or iBT-80; IELTS-6.5; MELAB-85; CAEL-60.
