Program Information

School:University of Windsor - Faculty of Graduate Studies
Faculty:Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
Field of Study:Sociology
Description:Profound changes today in Canada and elsewhere are occurring at all levels of society. Globalization is altering the nature of work, culture, and social and political institutions. Privatization, deregulation, and the decline of the welfare state have entailed a marginalisation of disadvantaged populations.

This reshaping of patterns of social inequality has enormous implications for a wide range of social problems. If research is to continue to have application to the analysis and resolution of the social problems around us, it is important to define areas of study that are focused explicitly and centrally on those issues. These are the issues that our doctoral program focusing on social justice will address.
