|Description:||The University of Windsor MSW program is geared toward students seeking advanced professional knowledge and skills within an ecological systems perspective. There is an emphasis on the ‘interrelationship’ across levels of practice, including the interrelationship between individuals and their environments and the impact the environment has on individuals. Environment includes a range of contexts including but not limited to family context, organizational infrastructures, service systems, network linkages, political forces, cultural forces, social forces, social work values, roles, and professional issues.
Applicants who, at the time of registration, hold a Bachelor of Social Work degree from a Social Work program accredited by the Canadian Association of Social Work Education or the Council on Social Work Education are eligible for the Advanced Standing option. The Advanced Standing option starts in May and takes one year (three terms) to complete. Students are required to complete a total of nine (9) courses
and an internship, which requires four full days working in an agency and may involve travel and/or weekend hours. Students are responsible for transportation to and from their internship location.
