The thesis-based Master of Science in Computer Science program provides students with skills and knowledge necessary to pursue doctoral studies or a professional career in the rapidly changing computing and technology fields. This is done through course work in specialized areas of computing technology, applications, and theory, as well as participation in research-oriented seminars, and culminating in an original research thesis. Students completing the MSc program are prepared to take on leadership roles in industry, or continue to deepen their expertise through the pursuit of a PhD in Computer Science.

Admission Requirements

Test Scores:
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Computer Based) [min. 237] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 92] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5]

All applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate proficiency in English to be considered for admission.

In order to be considered for admission to the Master of Science program in Computer Science, applicants must: submit a Statement of Research Interests (500 words or less), and have completed a four-year degree or equivalent in Computer Science, with an academic standing equivalent to 70% or better in the final two years of study (full time equivalent). Applicants who hold a four-year degree in another discipline with an academic standing equivalent to 70% or better in the final two years of study (full time equivalent), may be admitted as a transitional student. Applicants must submit a Statement of Research Interests (500 words or less) which indicates the name of a potential supervisor(s). Resume or Curriculum Vitae, two academic referee assessments.
