Description:Chemistry studies the building blocks of life-the particles that make up our world and everything around us. It impacts what we see, eat, smell, touch, and taste every day. Chemists play vital roles in research and development, education, and environmental protection, and the development of fuels, plastics, drugs, foods, and other consumer products. The program balances theory and practical work. Follow your interests by choosing to add a specialization such as analytical, organic, and polymer chemistry.

Through Waterloo's co-op program, you'll develop 20 months of paid work experience and be able to explore possible career in chemistry while earning money to help pay for your education.

  •  Grade12 English 
  •  Grade12 Advanced Functions 
  •  Grade12 Calculus and Vectors 
  • 2 of  Grade12 Biology  or  Grade12 Chemistry  or  Grade12 Earth and Space Science  or  Grade12 Mathematics of Data Management 

6 Grade 12 U and/or M courses including: - English (minimum final grade of 70%) - Advanced Functions (minimum final grade of 70% is required) - Calculus and Vectors (minimum final grade of 70% is required) - Two of: Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Space Science, Mathematics of Data Management, Physics - The following courses are recommended: Chemistry, Earth and Space Science, Physics A minimum final overall average of 80% or higher is required on your best 6 Grade 12 U and/or M courses, including required courses.

Test Scores:
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) or Michigan English Language Assessment Battery or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration)
