Description:With earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanoes making headline news in recent years, countries around the world need graduates who understand the earth and its resources. The Earth Sciences program combines geology with studies in ground and surface water and the engineering properties of rocks and soils. Our professors are engaged in soil and water contamination studies and enrich your classes with research about minerals, petroleum exploration, groundwater, surface water, and the atmosphere.

In addition to interesting labs and field work, you can also benefit from 20 months of paid co-op work experience and graduate ready for a career as an exploration geologist, groundwater specialist, environmental geochemist, consultant, teacher, and more.   • 2 of  Grade12 Biology  or  Grade12 Chemistry  or  Grade12 Earth and Space Science  or  Grade12 Mathematics of Data Management 

A minimum final overall average of 80% or higher is required on your best 6 Grade 12 U and/or M courses, including required courses. 6 Grade 12 U and/or M courses including: - English (minimum final grade of 70%) - Advanced Functions (minimum final grade of 70% is required) - Calculus and Vectors (minimum final grade of 70% is required) - Two of: Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Space Science, Mathematics of Data Management, Physics - The following courses are recommended: Chemistry, Earth and Space Science, Physics

Test Scores:
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 90] or Michigan English Language Assessment Battery [min. 80] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 75]
