Description:Spanning a broad area of science, biochemistry appeals to those who like to understand how life works. Biochemists work in areas such as medical, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology research, food and agriculture, and forensics.

Our program includes lab-intensive courses in cell biology, molecular biology, physical biochemistry, as well as analytical and organic chemistry. If you choose to add the Biotechnology specialization, you'll explore biological and biochemical processes used to make new products, such as drugs to treat disease.

  •  Grade12 English 
  •  Grade12 Advanced Functions 
  •  Grade12 Calculus and Vectors 

Two of the following are required: Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Space Science, Mathematics of Data Management, or Physics. Chemistry, Earth and Space Science, and Physics are particularly recommended. A minimum final overall average of 80% or higher is required on your best 6 Grade 12 U and/or M courses, including required courses.

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 90] or Michigan English Language Assessment Battery [min. 80] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6.5] or Canadian Academic English Language Assessment [min. 75]
