Description:Engineering, accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB), with an optional co-operative education component. The design of our program courses also grants you an Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma at the end of second year, which will allow you to enter into the workforce as an Electrical Engineering Technologist if you don't wish to pursue the final two years of the degree program.

During the first two years of the Electrical Engineering program, your studies will emphasize: Circuit Theory, Control Systems, Instrumentation, and Telecommunications. At this point you will receive your Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma. If you wish to complete the four-year Bachelor of Engineering degree, your final two years of study will advance your conceptual and design capabilities through a series of core courses, engineering design and a major project focused on a particular topic such as computer applications.

Completion of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent high school diploma; Grade 12 U English, Grade 12 U Advanced Functions with a Minimum Grade of 60%, Grade 12 U Chemistry, Grade 12 U Physics, and 2 Additional Grade 12 U or M Credits

Test Scores:
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 550] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 80] or Michigan English Language Assessment Battery [min. 85] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Computer Based) [min. 213]

Applicants whose first language is not English will need to satisfy Lakehead University’s English language proficiency requirements. Applicants can complete one of the following recognized language tests with the required minimum scores: TOEFL PBT-550, CBT-213, or iBT-80; IELTS-6.5; MELAB-85; CAEL-60.
