Description:Research undertaken as part of the master’s program is normally directed and supervised by a master’s committee. Whereas the student’s advisor provides day-to-day guidance and direction, the committee is responsible for the overall supervision to ensure that adequate progress is made. The master’s committee consists of three members.

Students may also pursue the Master of Engineering degree. This is a new degree designed for practicing engineers who may not be available to undertake a thesis research program. The degree requirements consist of 10 graduate courses totaling 30 term hours. These courses are selected in conjunction with a graduate advisor. Further information on the new degree can be obtained from the department office.
