Description:As leisure activities take a more predominant role in today's society, the need for dedicated professionals in recreation planning and management greatly increases. The school is a connection between the student, Humber, and future employers, working together to achieve the mutual goal of being the leader in recreation training.

Our program gives students the knowledge necessary to work in this broad and diverse sector. You will learn recreation theory and get hands-on practical training in how to apply that theory. Courses focus on the components of the recreation and sports administration industry, recreational program design and delivery, special events operations, and facilities and staff management. The program also includes an online simulation for program management used by community recreation departments and associations (class software by the Active Network).

Additional Admission Requirements:
    Applicants are strongly recommended to develop the following skill sets: computers/word processing, communication/interpersonal skills, related volunteer work, and an introductory background in recreation/ leisure. First aid/CPR training is an asset.
