Description:Law enforcement, today, involves policing socially, ethnically, and technologically diverse communities. Consequently, at least 80 percent of those hired in this vocational sector have post-secondary education. As a graduate of this program, you will be sought out by municipal, provincial, and national police services in Canada, as well as by private policing agencies. Take on interesting and important challenges in a variety of settings as a police officer, customs officer, immigration officer, or correctional officer.

Employers of previous Humber graduates include the Ontario Provincial Police, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Canadian Security Intelligence Service, the Toronto Police Service, Peel Regional Police, York Regional Police, and Durham Regional Police.

Test Scores:
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) [min. 550] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Computer Based) [min. 213] or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based) [min. 80] or International English Language Testing System (academic or immigration) [min. 6] or Michigan English Language Assessment Battery [min. 76]
Additional Admission Requirements:
    Some law enforcement agencies have minimum hearing and vision standards. Further, mental and physical health, and good moral character and habits may be required. Employers in some sectors of the law and security field that provide field placement opportunities may require mandatory bonding of students. Upon acceptance and prior to the start of classes, students must complete the Standard First Aid and Heartsaver AED (C) certificates, as well as a Police Records Check.
