Description:If you ever wondered how your engine works or what makes your transmission drive then Centennial College’s Motive Power Technician program is for you. This program prepares students to work in the automotive industry with an emphasis on motor vehicle technology. Theory and practical training equip the students for challenging positions in a variety of careers.

As part of the curriculum, the students will be trained in fully equipped automotive shops. This program provides the same vehicle technology and the in school content as the Automotive Service Technician apprenticeship curriculum standards for Level one and Level two. This helps to prepare the students to enter the industry and build the necessary skills required to be successful in their chosen career. Upon completion of the Motive Power Technician program students will be eligible to write an exemption test for Level one in school Apprenticeship training.

Applicants are required to have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or mature student status (19 years or older); English Grade 12 C or U, or equivalent or take the Centennial College English Skills Assessment for Admission; and Mathematics Grade 11 M or U, or 12 C, M or U, or equivalent or take the Centennial College Engineering Math Skills Assessment for Admission.
