|Description:||This two-year Ontario College Diploma program prepares graduates to work as legal assistants who are able to work in a variety of legal or general office environments.
The program consists of four levels. Levels 01 and 02 are the Office Administration - General, Ontario College Certificate program (0210X01FWO). Levels 03 and 04 are designed to give students knowledge and skills in the areas of wills and estates, litigation, real estate, family law, intellectual property and corporate law. Students apply business concepts, accounting practices, legal office procedures, and use specialized legal software to prepare and format documentation within client files. Emphasis is placed on the practical demands of the job, as well as confidentiality, professional ethics and meeting deadlines. Students participate in office simulations where they deal with realistic client matters and develop high-level word processing, presentation, Internet, email, database accounting and spreadsheet skills in a network environment. In Level 04, students who meet established criteria have the opportunity to participate in a field placement.

Amounts include tuition fee, program specific lab and material fees. Students` Association fees and compulsory ancillary fees. Books and supplies cost approximately $1000 per year and can be purchased at the campus store.
