Description:

The first of its kind in the UK, this programme equips you with a robust knowledge of the seven foundations of legal knowledge required by The Bar Standards Board, while also allowing you to explore the role of the law in humanity’s response to the climate crisis. The programme will help to equip you with the expertise required to pursue a career in law or a related field. Building on our root and branch commitment to sustainability and our pioneering reputation, Law with Environmental Sustainability is suited to students who are engaged with, or wish to learn more about, issues such as climate change and corporate responsibility.

You will develop an understanding of the major principles of English and EU law, enabling you to demonstrate a clear understanding of how the law operates across the globe. You will also enhance your understanding of what sustainability means in practice and how the law could be applied or reformed in response to the climate crisis. You will be encouraged to reflect on your own personal values, learn to critically analyse various legal and non-legal materials, and develop your research and legal writing skills. You will have the opportunity to engage with both theoretical and practical experiences to build on your expertise and showcase your learnings throughout your studies and beyond.
