Description:

Studying a combined honours in computer science and physics will provide you with a breadth of knowledge and wide range of skills across two exciting subject areas.

Initial modules are designed to bring everyone up to speed and you will learn the key themes that underpin each discipline. In computer science you will explore the fundamentals of programming, computing and gain the professional skills required for effective academic study. In physics you will explore familiar topics such as mechanics, gravity, electricity, magnetism, oscillations and waves through to more modern areas like special relativity and introductory quantum physics.

Building on the knowledge you have learnt in both subjects, in years two and three you will explore advanced core modules such as software engineering, quantum mechanics, nuclear and particle physics, solid state physics and electromagnetism. To add breadth to your learning, you can also choose modules that align with your career aspirations or interests. In your final year you will have the opportunity to work on final year projects that may be experimental, computational or theoretical.
