Description:

The MSc Economics and Finance programme at Swansea University aims to provide students with a thorough grounding in many of the key concepts, modelling approaches and research techniques deployed in key areas of economics, which also have important applications within finance. The programme is designed for graduates in economics related subject areas who are looking for an advanced programme to enhance their career or explore further research opportunities. Blending advanced economic theory and practices with relevant finance topics, this programme will prepare you for a finance-focused career anywhere in the world.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
  • Students must attain a minimum 2:2 (or overseas equivalent) in an economics related undergraduate degree. While a prior degree in Economics is expected, students with a background in a mathematically oriented subject area will be eligible for consideration, such as chemistry, maths, computer science, engineering, physics, finance or statistics.
  • Non-native English speakers must achieve an IELTS score of 6.0 overall with no component less than 5.5. A list of equivalent tests is provided here. If you have studied an undergraduate degree taught through the medium of English, you may be exempt from this requirement – click here for further information.
  • For students who fall short of only the English language requirement, we offer a range of Pre-Master's training programmes that you may take before starting your Master's qualification.
  • * We make every attempt to provide accurate information on prerequisites, programs, and tuition. However, this information is subject to change without notice and we highly recommend that you contact the school to confirm important information before applying.
