The Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine at Western University's Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, has launched Canada’s first Pain Medicine Residency program. Under the direction of Anesthesiologist, Dr. Geoff Bellingham, and Program Administrator, Lori Dengler, this brand-new program is gaining a great deal of national attention.



The program curriculum spans three London hospitals and also includes the University of Windsor. The Program encompasses all aspects of pain management, including the relief of chronic pain without reliance on addiction forming narcotics. The 2-year program is open to anesthesiologists, and should graduate 2 residents each year. Graduates from the program will be able to share alternative methods of pain management with other doctors.
