The Clinician Investigator Program provides an exciting opportunity for residents to pursue graduate or postdoctoral level training within a RCPSC accredited program. The program provides an innovative curriculum, mentorship and the opportunity to pursue a diverse array of cutting-edge research. We are in an exciting time of rapid advancements in science and medicine in which the physician scientist/investigator plays a vital role translating discovery into practice. The CIP aims to provide you with the skills needed to develop a successful career as a physician scientist/investigator.

Prerequisites:

These courses are intended as guidelines. Speak to your guidance counsellor to see what courses are offered at your school.
    CIP trainees must be enrolled in a University of Toronto Royal College specialty/subspecialty residency program in the U of T Postgraduate Medical Education and, in addition, applied to/be enrolled in a full-time graduate program at U of T leading to a M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) for a minimum of two years. In certain exceptional circumstances, consideration can be given to Canadian/eligible applicants from other Ontario universities.

    • Test of English as a Foreign Language (Paper Based) or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Computer Based) or Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet Based)
