Description:

Study opportunities include: sustainable production systems and management, animal behaviour and welfare, biotechnology, genetics and molecular genetics, computer modelling, nutrition, pasture management and forage production. Programs are designed to give students a broad knowledge of animal and poultry production as well as the application of modern technology within agriculture systems. Many supporting courses are also available in other departments. Students should contact the department to determine when specific courses are offered.

    A Master's degree, or equivalent, from a recognized university in a relevant discipline. A cumulative weighted average of at least 70% (U of S grade system equivalent) in the last two years of study (i.e. coursework required in Master's program). Demonstrated ability for independent thought, advanced study, and research.
