UNBC has outstanding academic and non-academic services and events to help you navigate your school year with ease, while having a lot of fun!

Some of our school-related departments and services:

  • Access Resource Centre (ARC). With a goal of creating and maintaining physical, intellectual, and social access to UNBC for students with (all) disabilities, the ARC is an exceptional resource.
  • Academic Success Centre (ASC). This is where you’ll find tutors, helpful tips and tricks, and workshops - all for free! The ASC is here to help you with courses you’re struggling in, to push your B+ assignment or exam to an A, to brush up on citation styles, and much more – drop in and explore their services.
  • Mathematical Academic Centre for Excellence (MACE). Whether you love math or struggle with it, MACE is an invaluable tool. It’s a huge room, with walls covered in white boards, teeming with math students, staff, and faculty - collaborative learning at its finest.

And for fun and relaxation:

  • UNBC Orientation Events. Come to campus before classes start for events to help you meet new people (including UNBC staff and faculty), tour campus, and enjoy unique UNBC experiences – visit www.unbc.ca/orientation for more information!
  • Clubs Days. Find your people during UNBC Clubs Days, when our campus hallways will be lined with tables teaming with student lead organizations and clubs! Take a peek at nugss.unbc.ca for a list of clubs and organizations (with everything from nerdy gaming and anime clubs to forestry, nursing, and pre-med clubs, and just about everything in between).
  • Timberwolves Home Opener. Bring your green and gold spirit to the UNBC Timberwolves home opener games mid-way through the fall semester!
  • University Farmers’ Market. Visit the Northern University Student Centre for fresh local produce, preserves, salsa, barbeque sauce, bread, gifts and jewelry, ice cream, and a local hot food vendor – almost every Tuesday afternoon (during the Fall and Winter semesters).

Whatever you get involved in and however you spend your time, have an awesome year!
