At UNBC Campus Life Is All About Community
The university experience involves more than just attending classes; take the time to get involved in every facet of campus life!
The university experience involves more than just attending classes; take the time to get involved in every facet of campus life. Here at the University of Northern British Columbia we have something for everyone. Life here can be fun, supportive and social, so be sure to make the most of your UNBC experience!
A great way to get involved is to contact our Student Life Department. Not only do they organize orientation, but they host on-campus events year-round. These events are a great way to meet other students and get connected with campus life!
The Northern Undergraduate Society (NUGSS) offers many services to UNBC students, including Over the Edge newspaper, CFUR radio, and Degrees coffee. They also run the more than 60 academic, cultural, social and service clubs on campus. With a wide range of clubs, from a historical fencing club to an underwater hockey club, there's something for everyone.
Remember, those UNBC student fees you pay grant you full access to the Northern Sports Centre. Here you can participate in a variety of fitness classes, intramural sports, as well as show your school spirit by cheering on the UNBC Timberwolves basketball and soccer teams.
Enjoying city life is another great way to get involved. With plenty of walking trails minutes from campus and ski resorts within hours of the city, Prince George offers many outdoor and recreational activities to keep students active year-round. The city also boasts a wide assortment of cultural and entertainment venues, leaving students with many opportunities to experience Prince George. Check out Tourism Prince George for more information.
