While post-secondary education is a great time to learn more about yourself and meet new people, it’s also a bridge into the next chapter of your life: a career.

The thought can be daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. KPU has multiple opportunities for you to acquire hands-on experience during your education. Get the skills and experience you need to transition into the career you’ve always wanted.

Co-operative Education – kpu.ca/co-op
Co-operative education or co-op alternates periods of on-campus study, with paid work-experience terms that are directly connected to your program. Co-op is a great way for you to not only earn money, but to meet with industry professionals, expand your network, gain hands-on experience, and explore different professional roles in-depth. KPU currently offers co-op in several programs in the arts, business, and science and horticulture.

Volunteering – kpu.ca/sld/volunteer
Volunteering is an excellent way to try something new, network with others, and make a difference. (Plus, as a bonus, it looks great on your résumé!) KPU hosts volunteer expos to help connect you with local organizations in the community. Volunteer hours are often flexible to fit with your school schedule and other commitments.
