Now that you’ve narrowed down your choice of schools, it’s important to make sure that you meet the application requirements for your program before applying.

At Waterloo, you can use our admission requirements tool to find the requirements that are unique to you based on your specific program and other relevant criteria.

When making admission decisions, we take other factors into consideration aside from grades. Completing the Admission Information Form (AIF) is your opportunity to tell us more about your extracurriculars and anything else you’d like us to consider.

Here are some tips to help you craft a strong AIF:

Do some research
Although the AIF is about you, it’s helpful to know what you’re writing for and what you’re getting into. Do a little research on Waterloo and the program you’re interested in so you know how to make the right connections.

Be personal
Get creative and write something that’s personal to you. Show us that you’ve put the time and effort to write a customized response to Waterloo so that we know you really want to be here!

Brag a little
The AIF is all about showcasing your strengths and letting us know why you are a great fit to attend Waterloo. Don’t be afraid to mention your achievements and why you have what it takes to study here.

Proofread
Type up your response in a draft first so that you can spell check, count the number of characters you’ve written, and check your grammar. When you’re done, ask others to help review and edit your application.

Last but not least, the most important thing to remember is to apply before the deadline.

Good luck with your application!
