Sadly, summer time fun is a distant memory and it's time to trade in those late-night escapades and unscheduled summer days for notepads, textbooks and assignments. It's also the perfect time to turn our attention to campus life and the variety of ways to add fun and texture to our university experiences! Nipissing University has a diverse array of opportunities outside the classroom for student involvement, leadership and personal growth.

Residence is the perfect place for students to get involved in any of the events and activities that are hosted throughout the year. Consider joining a residence council if social convening is your thing. If you're an upper year student, you may want to apply to be a Residence Don and play a vital role in the transition of first year students and assist their university journey.

Joining a club is the perfect way to meet new friends, have fun and explore your interests. The Student Union offers a wide range of clubs, from swimming and rowing to program-specific clubs like the Biology Society. Join an existing club or pick up an application package to start your own.

If you're a sports enthusiast, our Athletic Coordinators organize and host a multitude of intramural sports that are enjoyed by players and fans alike throughout the entire year.

The office of Student Development and Services offers a number of academic-related student services and a lot of opportunities for student involvement ― from certifications and workshops to being a mentor or peer-tutor. We also recognize the activities and events that students participate in outside of the classroom on a Record of Student Development (RSD) - an official document that highlights skills and competencies that are gained through volunteer work and civic engagement opportunities. The RSD complements your degree and will help to profile for employers, those skills that aren't reflected on your academic transcript but that assist when applying for your dream job.

Of course academics are of major importance to university life, but they're not everything, and the student life you live around campus will help you to make the most out of your university experience. There are always opportunities to learn and grow outside of a classroom!
