Getting involved on campus doesn’t have to be restricted to the classroom. Participating in clubs, teams, and societies is a great way to make your student experience the best it can be. Universities also understand that students need support on multiple levels which ultimately means that even if you aren’t aware, most schools offer many student services to help integrate everyone into university life. If you move to a new city for university, it can be a great opportunity to explore a new place and experience life off-campus.

The University of Waterloo’s Federation of Students (FEDS) knows students have interests outside of the classroom. That’s why they offer over 200 clubs and students societies for students to get involved, meet new people, and explore their interests. You can find just about anything from a cheese club to a Quidditch team. There is something for everyone! Most universities will have a clubs day for students to see what clubs they can join.

On campus, you can also find all the student services needed. Students can visit a doctor and receive any care that a family doctor would offer, take advantage of fitness and recreation programs, get a haircut, visit the dentist, and much more. Not only does life on campus provide services and opportunity for students, but the city of Waterloo itself has much to offer. The large student population makes Waterloo one of the youngest and most student oriented communities in Canada. With a city full of students, Waterloo has multiple places to hangout, grab food or drinks, and shop.

No matter the school, there will always be many opportunities for you to have an amazing university experience.
