Explore marine biology in Australia. Analyze the theatre scene in New York. Study international business in Hong Kong. At the University of Calgary, we believe the world is your classroom — and we’ll even help you pay for the trip.

Take one of our courses in an international location or blend in with local life while studying at a foreign university. With exchange and group study programs operating at 150 destinations in more than 50 countries, we’ll help you travel the globe and earn academic credit at the same time.

Exchanges allow you to study at one of our partner universities for a semester or a full year without having to pay foreign student tuition. You continue to pay tuition to UCalgary and remain eligible for our student loans and scholarships. In addition, some faculties have funding specifically for their students who are studying abroad. Find our more about funding your study abroad experience.

We also offer short-term (3-6 weeks) or semester-long group study programs, often led by UCalgary instructors in collaboration with instructors from the host country.

There are options to suit most undergraduate degree programs including:

  • Communications studies in Europe
  • Geography in Asia
  • Archeology in Mexico
  • Engineering in China
  • Broadway Musicals and Culture in New York City

Studying abroad adds breadth to your degree and allows you to take courses not available at UCalgary. Gain an unforgettable international experience in alternative study environments and exposure to diverse cultures while you earn credit towards your degree.
