Three Great Ways to Bust Stress on Campus

Save

It’s that time of year – exams, final projects and job applications are piling up, and you feel like the stress is never going to end.

Luckily, there are lots of opportunities to kick stress to the curb right on campus. Check out our top three tips.

Get moving
You may think you don’t have time to go to the gym, but working out on a regular basis can actually help you improve memory and other cognitive skills. Plus, the more you sweat, the less you stress – meaning you’ll be in a better frame of mind to tackle everything that’s due all at once. Check out the athletic facilities Humber has to offer.

Talk it out
If life is getting overwhelming, talking to someone can help. Whether it’s an on-campus counselor, a peer mentor or a career advisor, there’s a service that can help answer your questions – and ease your mind.

Eat and sleep well
If you’re burning the candle at both ends, a healthy diet can help support your immune system and stop you from getting sick. Choose a salad with lean protein instead of a piece of pizza, and consider a fruit-packed smoothie instead of a doughnut for breakfast. And even though you may be staying up late to study, try and get to bed and wake up at the same time every day – this is easier on your body than sleeping too much one night and too little the next.
