One barrier that can prevent students from achieving their post-secondary goals is figuring out how to pay for their education. The costs associated with tuition, student fees, and books can add up quick, but luckily there is help available.

At UNBC, we want to see you achieve your goals. Our Awards and Financial Aid office is here to help you find the funds necessary to finance your education. They can connect you with UNBC scholarships, bursaries, and other awards, as well as help you through the process of finding external funding opportunities.

UNBC Awards
Whether you’re entering UNBC right out of high school or finishing your final year of studies, there are award opportunities available for you.

Academic achievement isn’t the only thing that determines award eligibility at UNBC. There are many awards that consider leadership, financial need, and merit. The online Award Guide includes a full list of all awards, along with eligibility criteria and application instructions.

In order to be eligible for any UNBC award, make sure you apply before the March 1 deadline.

Other Funding Options
Students can also obtain financial assistance from external sources:

  • Government loans and grants – contact your local government or UNBC Awards and Financial Aid for more information on eligibility requirements and how to apply.
  • External award opportunities – many websites, such as ScholarshipsCanada.com and yconic.ca connect students with scholarships, bursaries, and other types of awards. They can save you time by matching your profile to available awards so you don’t have to do the search yourself.
Finding the funds to help pay for your studies can feel like an overwhelming task at times but we are here to help – contact us anytime at unbc4u@unbc.ca.

Good luck on your search!
