With classes starting monthly at triOS College, exams happen all throughout the year.  triOS students have come up with great tips to prepare themselves.  If you follow these few tips, the studying process can go smoother and prevent you from wanting to rip your hair out!

  1. Stay Organized: Organizing your notes will help you find what you are looking quickly and easily. Organize your time so that you give priority to the things that matter most.
  2. Keep Up With Readings: Always stick to the reading schedule located on your syllabus. Holding out until exam time will result in less time to review other class material. When reading the textbook, take notes in order to provide a summarized review, preventing the need to re-read material.
  3. Review Materials: Review class notes, textbook notes, tests and assignments. Reviewing old tests gives you an idea of what you failed to grasp the first time around and a better understanding of the types of questions you’ll likely face on the exam.
  4. Ask Questions:  To utilize the review class before the exam, read over material prior to the class in order to realize what aspects still require further clarification.
  5. Find a Study Space: Try to find an optimal study space in the school or at home, where you can focus without distraction. For example, triOS College has various locations across the campus to create ideal study environments.
  6. Test Yourself: In preparation for the exam, test yourself to see what has stuck and what hasn’t yet.
  7. Stay Healthy: Keeping active and eating right keeps the body energized in order to concentrate during those long study periods. With that being said, all-nighters are not advisable as the brain needs sleep in order focus and operate efficiently.
