Career & Employment Services (CES) at the University of Lethbridge is about more than helping you find a job; we help you make the connections that will ensure a smooth transition from university to the work world.

The TOP FIVE ways CES will connect you to:

1. YOUR GOALS: if you’re wondering, “what should I do with my life? What am I passionate about?” we can help. We offer career advising in partnership with counseling services to determine what is important to you, your priorities and the type of work that will give you the most satisfaction.

2. CAREER INFORMATION – once you have determined your goals and the kind of work you want to do, we will show you how to research occupations and the labor market, provide tips on informational interviewing, and help you turn your passion into a career you’ll love.

3. WAYS OF PREPARING for the transition from school to work by becoming an attractive job candidate in your field. There are a number of ways to gain relevant skills and experience while you are in school. Co-op education, applied studies, exchange programs, internships, and on-campus jobs are just a few of many options available to U of L students.

4. JOBS – we have an online job board and other employment resources. We will teach you key tactics in looking for work, and develop your job search strategies such as resume writing, interview techniques, networking, and portfolio development.

5. EMPLOYERS – We create opportunities for you to connect with employers by organizing career fairs, arranging company information sessions, and promoting employer activities for students like case competitions or company site visits.

To be successful at getting ‘connected’ requires a lot of time and commitment but the investment in your future is well worth it. The earlier you begin the more prepared you’ll be; make an appointment when you begin university to give yourself the best chance for success!
