Why Briercrest?

Hear from Matt, a current student, on what keeps him coming back to Briercrest.

I came to Briercrest purely by chance with no idea of what to expect. Now, four years later, I can honestly say I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. One thing that draws me back to this school is the quality of academics. I assume that most of you stopped reading at this point, so, for the strong-willed: hold on to your socks and I’ll explain a little more. The truth is that Briercrest expects a lot from you and it’s because of this: they want to see you succeed. You can come to Briercrest and do just enough to get by. Or you can choose to submit yourself to the standards set by the school and work hard to flourish and become an even better human being (no bias here). Still with me? Beautiful—let’s keep going. The cherry on top of this smorgasbord of academia comes in the form of an incredibly loving and friendly community with equally incredible staff and faculty who care about you and your future. The effort put into pursuing a relationship on a first-name basis with a professor will pay off immensely in the long run when you collide with a brick wall of assignments. Even outside of academics, the staff and faculty here are overqualified founts of wisdom and kindness, willing to offer guidance in your personal life if you’re ever in need. This is why I consider Briercrest not only my school, but also my home.
