Between studying for final exams, anxiously awaiting acceptance letters and deciding what university is for you, the last few months of school can be a busy and exciting time. We want to provide you with some tips and resources to help beat the stress so you can arrive on campus fully prepared to embrace university life.

While the number of assignments and tests you have during a semester may appear daunting at first, Nipissing offers a variety of Academic Support Services to make managing them a breeze. Services like Student Success Workshops, Peer Tutoring, Academic Skills Drop-In Centre, and Academic Skill Development are available to provide you with effective strategies and skills to help tackle your academic to-do list.

Talking things over with a friend, family member or professional can make a world of difference when you have a lot on your mind. Nipissing offers free confidential personal counselling services to all full- and part-time students.

Give your mind and body time to recharge and to become inspired. Reward your hard work with regular breaks and fun activities with friends. We recommend a walk along the beautiful campus trails to boost your energy. If you want additional physical and mental well-being support, Nipissing offers help through its Health Plan and Health Services.

Physical activity is also a great stress reliever. Going to the gym, participating in your favorite sport, and taking a yoga class are all great ways to clear your mind and improve your mood. We make it easy for you to stay active by including a membership to the R.J Surtees Student Athletics Centre in your student fees.

Once you accept your offer to Nipissing and have applied to residence, you have access to all of our student services. Consider participating in the Summer Transition Program before the schoolyear begins to make sure you’re well prepared to start your amazing journey.
