Study abroad and set yourself up for a greater return on investment

The cost of attending university is likely to be one of the biggest investments you make during your life, let alone considering a graduate degree. As it is such a big decision, you’ll probably want to know two things – can I afford it and is it worth the money?

There are many ways to finance your way through a graduate degree, and when you do the maths, you’ll be surprised at how affordable studying abroad is. To help finance your way through university:

  • Look out for scholarships - A lot of university’s will have scholarships available. Cardiff Met offer a scholarship of up to £2,000 GBP. All of our applicants are automatically considered for a scholarship, however if you would like more details about the scholarships and application process please contact us and we’ll be more than happy to talk.
  • Apply for a student loan - If you need some extra help paying for your tuition fees, check with your local government about loan options for students who study abroad. For example, we have had student in the past apply for schemes such as OSAP where we are a recognized institution.

Is it worth it? We think the answer is YES! Think about your prospects with or without a graduate degree, and how quickly you’ll earn back what you’ve spent for your education. Cardiff Met offer one year masters courses that have been design with industry in mind and offer work placement opportunities across all of our schools. As a result 96% of our graduates are employed or in further education within 6 months of graduating. Also consider your career prospects after studying at home, or abroad – studying abroad could give you an edge when applying for jobs and help you secure that dream role.
