St. Mary’s University is committed to a holistic approach to education. This includes nurturing our students’ mind, body, and soul through a variety of initiatives, programs, and resources on campus. As the end of the 2016 winter term is fast approaching stress levels among our community are rising, with exams, term papers, and presentations culminating in the next few weeks. In order to help students combat the end of semester stress St. Mary’s has organized many activities, and makes available numerous resources to students during this busy time.

Through the Campus Ministry program students are able to utilize the Sacred Space for weekly meditation classes, any and all are welcome to come and clear their mind while de-stressing and relaxing in a calm and open environment. In addition to meditation, the Health and Wellness Department will continue to offer free yoga to students every Tuesday between 11:45 am and 12:45 pm in the Student’s Association Building. For those students who enjoy the company of four-legged companions, PALS (Pet Access League Society) will be on campus April 11th, all students are welcome to come and hang out with some furry friends to help you to rejuvenate. Students who are feeling overwhelmed by the end of semester crunch can also make an appointment to speak with our academic advisors, learning center staff, or with our counselor on campus. These areas of support can help with anything from study tips, to academic planning, and lifestyle tips that can assist with managing your stress levels. Ensuring our students have access to resources which help to improve their mental and physical health is vital to St. Mary’s holistic approach to post-secondary education, and these campus resources and programs help to support this mission.
