Post-secondary education is an investment in your future, but for many it comes with financial barriers. At St. Mary’s University we are dedicated to ensuring that all students have access to an affordable and accredited education. This is why we are committed to offering awards to one-in-five of our students. St. Mary’s University’s awards go a long way in assisting students with their post-secondary education and are established for students through bursaries and scholarships.

Bursaries are awarded annually based mainly on financial need, or community involvement rather than academic standing. Scholarships are awarded annually in recognition of a student’s academic achievements as well as community involvement, and participation in athletics.

St. Mary’s is proud to offer new students entering from high school the opportunity to be a part of the “President’s Circle”. Winners of this prestigious award must achieve an average of 80 per cent or higher in their high school classes. Recipients of this award are eligible to receive between $1,000 and $2,500 in their first year of studies.

There are over 50 scholarships and bursaries available to eligible students at St. Mary’s University, which enables 20 per cent of our students to receive financial support as they pursue their degrees. As post-secondary education continues to be a financially burdensome for many, St. Mary’s is dedicated to ensuring that our campus remains open and welcoming to all.
