There is no more exciting area of study than technology, according to Dr. Rick Davey, the President of RCC Institute of Technology.

“It is a thrilling career choice because it is always changing,” said Dr. Davey. “But, what we have noticed is a trend of fewer people enrolling in technology programs relative to the demand for graduates in the industry.”

So, RCC Institute of Technology has taken a monumental step towards curbing that trend with its range of significant scholarships available to international and domestic students.

“I want everyone to know there are a generous number of scholarships here for the right students,” Dr. Davey said. “We want these scholarships to play an important role in preparing the next generation of technology professionals in the Greater Toronto Area and beyond.”

Available are President’s Technology Scholarships, valued at between $22,000 and $32,000, available to outstanding students entering baccalaureate programs in technology at RCCIT.

RCCIT also honours Canadian Forces members for service to their country by offering a bursary in the amount of 25 per cent of tuition for all programs at RCC Institute of Technology through its Canadian Forces Bursary.

In addition, RCCIT offers a range of international scholarships, between $22,000 and $40,000 against tuition. These scholarships and are arranged by region including the Caribbean, Asia, Africa, South America, Europe, the Middle East and more.

The scholarships are available to citizens of each scholarship’s respective region, who are accepted for admission into residential (or blended) baccalaureate programs in technology at RCCIT and who can demonstrate a deep passion for technology, an aptitude for science or math and a desire to launch a career in technology-related fields.

The scholarships are offered bi-annually for the October and January start dates of the Bachelor of Technology (Electronics Engineering Technology) program.

“We hope, through these scholarships, to encourage students to study technology because of the great career opportunities ahead,” said Dr. Rick Davey. “That is very much part of RCCIT’s heritage.”
