Not everyone will know the career that they want and it seems increasingly harder to escape the word “employability” in the ever demanding graduate labour market, but what does it really mean for you as a student?

For students at Cardiff Met, we believe it means building the skills, confidence and capability to not only manage your own career path, but also positively contribute to the economy and community.

We pride ourselves on creating graduates who are equipped with the skills to have a successful career which we support through strong links with industry and the professions, including options for work placement programmes, or degrees with accreditation by recognised, authorities and awarding bodies such as ACCA, CIMA, IBMS or HCPC.

During the second year of undergraduate study, all of our students will be able to gain credits from any work experience they take to support their studies. Students are required to submit a report discussing their placement and experiences to evidence the time they spent in industry.

Through the promotion of student entrepreneurship and our focus on employability we have ensured that 94% of our graduates secure employment or enter further study within six months of graduation. *Destination of Leavers in Higher Education (DLHE) 2013.
