From the perspective of a current student, Leeds Beckett University offers fantastic inclusive support and opportunities to all students. As students we have enjoyed the best student experience at this University.

Students are provided with great support from the start of their studies all the way. Through the Student Hub, students are welcome to utilise this service for crucial aspects such as learning to craft and maintain their CV to enhance your employability. All these services, inclusive of Careers Advice are offered for free to all students via one on one or drop in sessions or appointments booked in advance.

Job Shop is another key service for students. Once students are registered with the Job Shop, they can update their availability two weeks in advance depending on their weekly schedules. As a result, once a part-time job crops up, students are contacted, and if they fancy the job, they can fit it in nicely alongside their studies, hence earn while studying, and most importantly add value to their resume. Job flexibility is the name of the game. One other important thing is that students can look for part-time work within as well as outside university. Depending on their preferences, they can utilise the available filters so that they can be notified of specific job adverts.

As for me, I have had the opportunity to engage in voluntary work as an International Student Mentor, as well as paid work as International Student Ambassador, working with the university marketing team and international office helping international students on their first arrival, help them settle in, and mentor them. Also, I have done campus tours to prospective students and parents coming from all spheres of the world in order to show them key features that make Leeds Beckett University a unique place.

Proud Leeds Beckett University student,
