Get up, get out, and get active with athletics and recreation.

There’s more to university life than academics. Getting involved in athletics and recreation is a great way to meet new people, make friends, stay active, get involved in campus life, and have fun along the way. Kwantlen Polytechnic University has athletics and recreation options for all students no matter what your interest or skill level.

Varsity Athletics – kpu.ca/athletics
KPU is now in its 14th season of interuniversity competition. The university is home to the Eagles, who proudly represent us in men and women’s basketball, men and women’s soccer, badminton, and golf. Student athletes at KPU are required to take a minimum of 18 credits in an academic year (September 1- August 31), and maintain a 2.5 GPA. Interested in playing for KPU? Be sure to attend athletic recruitment day. Sessions are held throughout the year for athletes to connect with our coaches, ask questions and learn more about what it’s like to study at KPU and play for the Eagles.

KPU also offers a variety of recreation activities for students including fitness classes like zumba, Latin dance, yoga, and kickboxing taught by professional instructors. Classes are offered at various times throughout the day to accommodate student schedules and are available at KPU’s Langley, Richmond, and Surrey campuses. Or, get involved in intramural leagues and recreational tournaments such as dodge ball and road hockey, or drop-in volleyball. The university’s main campus also includes a dedicated fitness centre with a variety of gym equipment including treadmills, elliptical machines, bench presses, and assorted weights (plus it’s free for students!).
