Studies have shown that studying abroad can enhance your career prospects. As well as increasing confidence and becoming more culturally aware, you are also more likely to be employed in a graduate-level position within six months of graduating. In addition, students with international experience on their CV earn, on average, £4,000 per annum more than those without.

We encourage all students to become global graduates and our specialist International Experience and Mobility Service (IEMS) will help you to identify the right overseas opportunity. They will also help you to apply for external funding to support your travel, where available.

At Coventry University you can:

  • Study abroad with one of our partner institutions, many of which teach in English. We have links with universities through Europe, North and South America and Asia. Our most popular destinations include China, Malta, Madrid, Malaga and Valencia in Spain. Many students also opt to study in Paris or the South of France.
  • Gain valuable work experience by applying for work placements and internships abroad. We’ll support you with anything from a few weeks as an overseas intern, to a year-long work placement.
  • Join our global volunteering programme and get involved in opportunities across the world. Students have recently volunteered to help communities in Thailand, the West Indies, Indonesia and other developing countries.
  • Learn a new language to a level that will help you socially or to an advanced standard through our Linguae Mundi programme. Languages offered include French, Spanish, Italian, German, Greek, Dutch, Polish, Hindi, Mandarin, Russian and Arabic.
  • Learn about doing business internationally as part of your courses and socialise with students from other parts of the world.
