There are numerous ways to gain world perspective, and our International Services Office is keen to help students who have an appetite for adventure with this goal. Many want to experience an international exchange abroad, which is a great way to expand cultural understanding, enhance language skills, discover new interests, and make new friends. Consider too, the myriad of volunteer opportunities ― at home and abroad ― that will expose you to culturally diverse settings, provide you with practical experience, and have meaningful impact on your life.

Investigate all the International options available to you.

International Exchanges
Immerse yourself in a new culture and spend one semester or a year abroad in one of our exchange and study abroad partner schools in one of 19 different countries. You will pay Nipissing tuition but local living expenses.

Internships or Volunteer
WUSC (World University Services of Canada) Internships offer the opportunity to work in communities in Canada and overseas. You can go just about anywhere in the world to volunteer with non-government organizations, study on a letter of permission, work a summer abroad, or help international students adjust to life in Canada within your local community.

Conferences and Training
Take the opportunity to travel to Czech Republic for a week to attend a cross-cultural exchange of young ideas concerning the future of world leadership.

Bachelor of Education International Practicum
As a student in the Bachelor of Education program, you have the opportunity to complete one of your practicums internationally. The locations vary and the experiences are amazing.

Study Tours/Research/Athletic Activities
The list of destinations varies, from trips to Jamaica with the School of Business and the iLead program, and expeditions to the Galapagos Islands with the Biology department, to more local excursions where you have lots of opportunities to explore other communities.
