Every year we welcome students from over 120 countries to our friendly University, which dates back to 1825. Student-centred, business-minded and focused on graduate employment, we develop our courses in conjunction with employers and industry. That is why we are in the top ten (UK) for paid placements (internships) and have an above average graduate employability rate (around 94%).

Based in the heart of Yorkshire, our location in the middle of the big city triangle of Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield means you can easily hop on a train and find yourself in one of these fantastic cities within half an hour. Manchester International Airport is only 40 minutes away and is the gateway to the many sights of Europe, as well as the recommended arrival airport for the UK.

We are a successful, innovative and modern University with excellent facilities and many outstanding research and teaching teams. A continuing programme of campus development (we’ve spent over £100 million over the last ten years) ensures that you have access to some of the best facilities and equipment in the country. In addition, Huddersfield has a dynamic, creative and cultural mix with a strong reputation for student safety. A recent national UK student survey (NSS) placed us in the top 10 for student satisfaction.

Studying abroad can give you a great experience both inside and outside the lecture theatre, and we offer either full degree programmes or a Study Abroad programme, where you can come and study for a semester and get a taste of English life. This offers a range of courses (known as modules in the UK) that you can choose from and develop an experience unique to you.

With many sports clubs and international societies, the University has something to offer every international student. We also have a great support network that includes International Student Advocates, an International Welcome Week, a visa advice team, as well as the Students’ Union itself. International Welcome Week helps you settle into your new country and town, and meet other students from around the world. We also organise many different events to help you learn about British culture, make friends, find accommodation and register with the University Health Centre.
