The world is a big place. Why not go see more of it?

Save

Kwantlen Polytechnic University provides numerous opportunities to study abroad, go on exchanges, or participate in a field school. Combining travel into your educational program has countless benefits which can enhance your education, increase your employability, and provide you with a new perspective on life.

Exchanges

KPU has partner schools around the globe where you can study abroad for one or two semesters while paying KPU tuition, and earning transferrable credit. Going abroad during your education allows you to see things up close you may have only read about before. Experience a new environment, culture, and a new way of life while meeting new people, increasing your independence, and developing new skills.

Field Schools

Not ready for a semester-long trip? KPU offers field schools— shorter excursions (3-6 weeks long), where students travel as a group, and complete KPU courses with KPU instructors. Past KPU field schools include language and culture studies in France, Germany, and Japan; fine arts studies in France; and interdisciplinary studies in the Amazon. As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, a higher value is being placed on international experiences, cross-cultural communications, and foreign languages skills—all things that are developed through travel.

In order to be eligible for study abroad opportunities you must have completed at least 30 credits, with a minimum GPA of 2.7, and still have 9 credits left to complete when you arrive back at KPU. Almost all KPU programs provide opportunities for you to travel abroad. If you’re interested in going abroad as a KPU student, start planning early. Research places you are interested in, talk to others who have completed an exchange or field school, and create a travel plan. Pack your bags, and prepare for take-off!
