How to make your application effective by focusing on two essential items.

Save

At Glion Institute of Higher Education- in Switzerland and London- we receive hundreds of applications from students around the globe, with diverse educational backgrounds, English levels, and cultures. Despite this diversity, our Enrollment Advisors look for two common areas that, in addition to meeting the basic requirements, give candidates a good chance of acceptance.

1. Motivation

Nothing says “motivated” to a university admissions officer better than an organised, error-free application that arrives on time, or better yet - early.

Beyond that, a stellar motivational essay is the best way to make your application stand out. First, make sure your letter answers the question/topic that was specified. Then, add a personal touch of humour, drama or something interesting so that your letter tells your unique story and why you are an ideal fit for this particular program and university.

2. Soft skills

Good soft skills, such as communication, team-work, time-management, organisation skills, are a great asset for university applicants and your CV is the perfect place to showcase yours.

In addition to your education, professional experience (if you have any) and hobbies, your CV should include volunteer work, extracurricular clubs, awards and hobbies. Most importantly, you should link each activity with some skill. Make it clear that you don’t just do things; you organise, create, collaborate, and improve them.

Glion Institute of higher Education is currently accepting applications for the bachelor degrees in hospitality management and event, sport and entertainment management starting in January 2015.
