  1. Academic programs – Not everyone graduates with the degree they start out with. Everyone wants a great career but not everyone knows what it’s going to be. It’s nice if a university offers a variety of programs and makes it easy to switch if you want to. UNB offers over 75 undergraduate and graduate programs which can expose you to a wide variety of areas.
  2. Support – You’re going to need it. Whether that’s help with writing your paper, doing research, or just simply talking to someone, the university you choose should offer all the support you need. UNB has a student-faculty ratio of 17:1, offers a free Writing & Math Help Centre, personal and career counselling, a health clinic, and we’ll even drive you to get groceries!
  3. Careers – Getting a great educational experience is important, and so is getting the career you want. Your university should value both and expose you to a variety of interests and career options. At UNB, we have career counselors to assist you, student employment services to help with your résumé and finding a job, and Career Connections- a website designed just for students to find out more about themselves and what types of careers will make them happy.
  4. The city – Where your school of choice is located will have a big impact on your experience. UNB is located in Fredericton, New Brunswick. The campus is like a gated community in the heart of the city. Situated on the beautiful Saint John River, nearly a third of its 60,000 residents are students, and it offers everything from fine dining to ethnically-diverse restaurants and pub-style fare. Fredericton is known for its dynamic music and event scene and was also recently named Canada’s “Goodest City”.
