Choosing your future school can be a daunting task. Here are a few tips to help you narrow down your choices and ensure you get into the program and the school that best suits your goals and aspirations.

Follow your dreams!
Your college or university program will give you the skills to succeed within your chosen field, but it won’t pigeon-hole you into one career. At Seneca, we offer 290 programs, from animation to science and engineering technologies, which can lead to more than 500 careers. You may also choose to transition from a diploma to a degree to build your knowledge and make you even more valuable to potential employers. The most important part is that you choose a program that you are passionate about.

Location, Location, Location
Where you choose to study is as important as what you study. At Seneca, our classrooms are your career training ground and each of our campuses provides a unique learning environment. For example, our Environmental Technician and Veterinary Technician programs are held at our King Campus, home to 282 hectares of woods, lake and fields, which allow students in these programs to work in the field with nature and wildlife, just steps away from their classrooms. Students in our Bachelor of Aviation Technology spend 3 years studying at our brand new, state-of-the-art Peterborough Aviation campus, which is home to our fleet of 19 aircraft.

Campus Life
There is more to college life than books and studying. Getting involved on campus is an important step towards future success. It’s fun and will allow you to have new experiences, learn new things and develop new skills. At Seneca, we offer a wide variety of activities including athletics (Seneca is the most decorated college athletics program in the province), clubs and volunteering opportunities.

Test it out or Take a tour
You wouldn’t buy a pair of shoes without trying on them on, so why would you choose a school without seeing the campus and facilities? It’s essential to visit your potential school to ensure the campus and the school is a match. Book a campus tour. Seneca offers them weekly. Or visit our campus-wide Open House on November 29. If you can’t make it to campus, Seneca is the only college in Ontario to offer an inside look into our labs and classrooms using the Google 360 Tour.

Whatever you choose to study and wherever you choose to go, you are making a valuable investment in your future.
