At Glion Institute of Higher Education- in Switzerland and London- students come from 90+ countries, with diverse educational backgrounds, English levels, and cultures; and 85% of them have a job or multiple offers on graduation day. Our graduates are recruited by top international companies because they have studied the right things in the right way. Here’s how they do it.

Just do it. Never has the old adage of “practice makes perfect” been truer than in higher education. Learning by doing, or Applied Learning, as we call it at Glion, is a highly effective way to turn information into usable knowledge. For our students, learning to be a leader and a manager starts with hands-on courses in the school’s restaurants, kitchens and rooms. Plus, our students complete 2, 6-month internships to apply their knowledge in the real world.

Don’t do it alone. Learning with peers can make a difficult subject much easier to digest. At Glion, for example, some students struggle with the freshman course “Basic Financial Accounting”, so the school organizes Supplemental Instruction (SI) groups led by students who have done well in that class. By asking questions, working through practice problems, and discussing difficult areas, students help each other to succeed in challenging courses.

Do what you love. It may not be possible to choose every subject you have to study, but when you choose a major, choose your passion. The students at Glion have chosen to study business with a focus on hospitality or event management because they love these dynamic industries which offer many career opportunities.

If you are looking for a university where you will have a truly unique study experience, Glion has programmes starting in January and August 2015.

If you are passionate about something, and want it hard enough, you will get there, whether you get a good grade or not.

For interesting careers that require passion as much as skill, check out Glion.
