An internship gives students the unique opportunity to practice the skills and knowledge gained on their course, whilst also gaining experience in the work place. Employers can also benefit, gaining an employee who has up to date knowledge and a desire to learn. Robert Gordon University is proud of its consistently outstanding record in graduate employment. We believe our working placements play an important part in this success, giving our graduates a valuable advantage when it comes time to start their careers.

Our internships are an integrated component of a student’s degree that is credit bearing and counts towards a student’s final degree award. These vary in length from 4 to 48 weeks depending on what the student is studying. In most cases these are an optional part of the degree that students have the choice to benefit from in place of an academic module. They are however, in real working environments where students are expected to make a positive contribution to the work of the company or organisation.

93% of our undergraduate programmes have an internship option with a growing number of our postgraduate courses also offering a short work placement. Our placements are across a wide range of professions from Engineering to Accountancy and Business, from Art and Design to Social Work.

We have a dedicated placement team who work on placing students with more than 700 employers that we work with throughout the world.
