As children, we all had fantasies about what we would do with our lives when we grew up: Astronaut, Veterinarian, Fire Fighter, Doctor etc. Of course, as you got older, you probably started to realize that there are a plethora of career options out there and they can be near impossible to attain.

Today, students are getting a harsh reality check once they’ve graduated from University. The job market is tough to break into and further, some industries are simply not in need of more workers. Many universities teach programs for which there are no direct job prospects and unfortunately, most fresh-out-of-high-school graduates do not consider what job prospects will be like 4 years down the line.

Luckily, there are tons of vocational and career colleges out there today that can take the skills you’ve worked so hard to develop and apply them to real-life job situations and even get you co-op and practicum placements (where many students get hired for permanent positions too!).

Got a psychology degree? Brighton College offers programs in Marketing and Business Administration which bring together the study of psychology and buying behavior (along with many practical applications too).

If your degree is in Business, it’s a good idea to find a way to enhance your studies. Taking an Advanced Business program with a practicum will be an advantage to you when you’re seeking your next job.
