Work placements

At the University of South Wales, we think work experience is an essential part of your degree, so there are lots of opportunities to experience the world of work. Many of our degrees can be studied as 'sandwich’ courses, where you’ll spend up to a year in paid work experience that counts towards your qualification. The University has a dedicated Careers Service which helps you to find work experience and placements.

Industry links

We think it’s essential to keep up with the ever-changing working environment, so we have close links with relevant employers and industries. Companies like British Airways, General Electric, Sony and Tata tell us what’s going on, so we can design courses that give you the skills they’re looking for.

Get accredited

Lots of our courses have 'official’ industry approval, through accreditations from a host of professional bodies, including ACCA, the British Computer Society (BCS), Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), the British Psychology Society (BPS), Skillset Media Academy Wales, the Institute of Fire Safety Engineers, RICS – the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and CILECT – the association of the world’s major film and television schools.

First class facilities

Massive investment in facilities also means that you’ll be using the technology and equipment that professionals use in the real world, from a Jetstream airliner to TV studios to crime scene houses to healthcare suites, which means that you will be more prepared for the world of work.

Skills for the workplace, skills for life

Through group work, presentations, research and projects, you’ll get plenty of opportunities to practice the skills you need for any job in any sector.

Grad Edge

Grad Edge is the employability programme for the University of South Wales. It provides extra-curricular opportunities, such as guest lectures, networking opportunities and practical training, such as maximising your CV and LinkedIn profile.
